It is hard to believe that another year has gone by! So as we say so long to 2011 let's remember all the fun we had with family and friends.
- We started off 2011 in Wheeler, TX, it's a small quaint town just west of the Oklahoma border where there is no Walmart for 45 minutes, no major chain stores or resturants, and there are no zoning laws but the town itself was full of some amazing people. We celebrated Andrew's 25th birthday! He's such an old man! ;)
- In February, John received his first black eye via a fight with a picnic table, I guess we know who won. This was all days before his 2nd birthday!
- John had a Dr. Seuss birthday since he loves listening to them. Favorite book: Hand Hand Finger Thumb, if you haven't read it you should it is very catchy, John currently has it memorized and we say it like a nursery rhyme.
- We found out over spring break that we were having another baby!!! Of course we were ecstatic and shocked all at the same time because it wasn't planned. We chose to keep it a secret so it could all sink in.
- In April we shared our news with family and of course they were excited! We celebrated Easter with our little man. He is finally at the age where he understands hunting eggs plus it was entertaining to watch!
- May we both finished up our commitments in Wheeler but not without a new battle wound on John's face. On the second to last day at daycare, he slipped on a toy meeting the bookshelf face first busting up right below his left eye. Well the bookshelf won and he received 3 stitches. Now he looks like a tough guy! Andrew completed his first year of teaching and we jetted out of town as fast as we could back to good old Weatherford!!!
- In June, Andrew started graduate school and I was accepted into my discipline for graduate school. I celebrated my birthday!! We made sense of living in a two bedroom apartment...more or less we learned the art of purging.
- July wasn't too exciting except we found out we were having a baby GIRL!!!! Bring on the tutus and big bows because this momma was super excited!! We both finished up our summer semester but not before Andrew was offered a job in Elk City, teaching percussion and assisting with the junior high bands!! I am so proud of him and of course he got the job and is teaching with some awesome guys!
- Then came August...back to school for yet another semester but this time I was a graduate student four semesters away from graduating!!! Andrew started his job, John started going to the Methodist church two days a week for school, and I had a goal to get all school work done before Kelly was born. John became a big boy at 2 1/2 and we are sad that he is growing up so fast but it is so much fun!!!
- September was pretty boring just work and school, spending tons of time with John, preparing for Kelly, and trying not to get too excited for her arrival.
- October we celebrated Kelly's arrival with friends and family at her baby shower. I am so thankful for each one of them! We celebrated Halloween with John, he was Woody this year. He loves his costume so much he asks on a daily basis to wear his costume! By this time I was uncomfortable and losing my focus on school work but luckily I only had three things left to complete our of over ten projects/tests (I was doing good).
- Finally November had arrived!!! Who was excited for this month?? This lady right here because we were going to meet our little girl!!! I was getting even more uncomfortable but remain patient because she had to come out at some point but it wasn't in her plans so she was kicked out. We have never been more in love but wait yes we have been head over heels in love for 33 months with John but now our love has multiplied. Being a parent is amazing!!! After Kelly arrived we headed to Tulsa for Thanksgiving and some relaxation! This was by far the best month of the year because our family is now complete minus a dog named Mae Mobley...one day...
- The final month of the year, December brought this wonderful year to a close with us finishing up our semesters with wonderful grades, two amazing kiddos, celebrating our 6th wedding anniversary, and spending the holiday with our families.
I know it is said every year that this has been the best year yet but we don't know what the future holds. I believe 2012 will be an amazing year but currently nothing can top 2011 it has been a great adventure! Hope everyone had an amazing evening ringing in the new year while being safe of course! We were all in bed by 11...such is life with an on the go 34 month old and a 6 week old infant. Here's to another year!
