1st Month Letter

Miss. Kelly,

Mommy and daddy can’t believe that it has already been a month since you blessed us with your beautiful face. You have been up to a lot of growing, sleeping, and just being super precious!

You celebrated your first holiday, Thanksgiving, where you met tons of family including your cousin Kayla.

Mommy is having so much fun dressing you up and putting huge bows on your head. One day you might not like having bows/headbands on your head so I am enjoying it while I can.

Sleeping: You are waking up every 2 hours to eat at night and going right back to sleep but during the day you pretty much eat whenever you want. We had a rough couple of days with nursing but we quickly figured it out and you are loving it. I love how excited you get when you are in the “position” to nurse, your eyes just light up because you know what will be happening in a few short seconds.

Eating: Of course you are breastfed, mommy wouldn’t have it any other way! You eat whenever you want during the day but at night you eat every two hours.

Growth: Since you have long feet combined with long toes and long body, you are outgrowing your newborn sleepers. Your newborn diapers are also becoming a little small because of you thick thighs so we will be switching to size ones very soon. We aren’t for sure how much you weigh, how long you are, or how big you head is because they consider mommy an experienced mommy so you won’t be seeing the doctor until you are two months. At two weeks you weighed 8lbs 9oz (30th %), 21 inches (25th %), and 15 inch head (95th %). I can only imagine how much you have changed in the last two weeks!

Play: You are mostly just kicking you legs and moving your arms anytime you are awake but you do love to stare at your big brother a lot. You rolled over from your tummy to your back at 1.5 weeks old but you have to be mad enough to do it.

Here you are at one week old!

It is funny how much you have changed in just over a week. At two weeks you are very alert, really trying to hold you head up, and really trying to figure out your new world.

At 3 weeks you surprised mommy when she said your name you sat up just long enough to snap this picture. You enjoy sitting up with support of course, being on your tummy, listening to mommy and big brother sing, and your smiles are more frequent and they melt our heart.

You love bath time as long as it is in your tub. Mommy doesn’t blame you being in a sink just isn’t comfortable, lounging is the best way!

It is still hard to believe that you are already a month old and that you have blessed us more than you will ever know. We love to just listen to you grunt while you are trying to get comfortable or waking up. You don’t cry very often but grunting is the way you communicate. Most the time people think you are working on something but we are quick to tell them that isn’t he case.

Little ladybug this first month was a whirlwind but we have tried to remember as much as we can because you will never be this small again! We love you more than words can express and we are looking forward to each day we are blessed with you!
