This weekend was full of firsts for our little boy and I am just loving every minute of this time in John's life. It was a typical Friday night, Andy was at another football game in Clinton which of course the team won! John and I were hanging out when all of a sudden he got up on his knees and started to rock but then all of a sudden he did a little hop, which was the most precious thing I have ever seen.
The following day we drove to Stillwater to take bubba to his first OSU football game and to see some special people! We hung out with Cassie for awhile and then she d
ropped us off on campus so we didn't have to pay for parking. It is always great to see her and catching up on everything in our lives! Now for Andy to experience a real game day since he was in the band while we attended OSU and John's first game too! I saw my bff Emily as well as my long lost frie
nd Stacy but then it was off to listen to the bands pre-game concert which as always it was amazing! Andrew wanted to walk with the band to the stadium and the cutest thing happened John crashed while listening to the band play, he can literally sleep anywhere!
Now it was game time, our seats were amazing, the people around us were so sweet they all enjoyed John's entertainment even sharing some of their own kid stories with us. John seemed to enjoy himself but of course he is the greatest baby and hardly ever decides to get mad. All the people around us were surprised with how content he was, plus how cute he was too! The Cowboys played great with some mistakes but it is to be expected there isn't such a thing as a perfect game just games that are played to the teams abilities.
Then came the much anticipated halftime shows from both colleges bands. Grambling State's band was good in the aspect of putting on a dance show but Cowboy Marching Band totally kicked some butt
on the musical end plus they had some dancing going on, the cymbals were amazing! Go my square friend Allyn!! haha
We decided to leave after the half, to get back home which didn't happen. We went over to the band and saw all our old friends and Ryan. Sometimes I wonder about John's hearing because the band never seems to bother him but who knows maybe he is used to it. We said goodbye and called Cassie to come and pick us up, then went out to eat dinner with her, which was a blast! Then we ended up staying at her apartment until the game was over and Ryan came to hang out, it was great to actually spend some time with both of them we shared tons of laughter. But it was time to hit the road and go back to Weatherford!
On Sunday it was a wonderful warm day! John had several firsts in one day, it started off with him saying "dada" which mine and Andy's hearts just melted! Next came him doing his version of crawling which entails doing the downward facing dog then getting on his knees, scooting his knees up but then falling to his belly. He successfully moves about an inch each time. It is so cute I can't believe he is already to this point it just seems like yesterday we were in the hospital! Lastly he noticed that he can make his fingers move in the bye-bye motion but more or less he was waving bye-bye to himself but he is starting to do it to other people. We are so blessed with such an amazing little boy and love being parents so much!!!!!!!
The countdown is on: 4 days until DAVE MATTHEWS BAND!!!!!!!
We have yet another full weekend ahead now to make it through this week...it is going to be hard with so much anticipation for the upcoming weekend!!
