Life is not a competition nor is it a time to out do someone else to overcome your own jealousy.
Life is honestly a time to live, laugh, and love the cards that you are dealt, enjoy the simple things in life, be with the ones you love, and never worry about what others are doing because you are living your own life doing your own things.
Sometimes we try to out do the next person out of pure jealousy of what they have yet in the end we normally end up digging ourselves into a hole of wants and forgetting about the important needs in our lives. When someone begins to gripe about how they are living paycheck to paycheck, I simply ask them to evaluate their need and want expenses, did they really need a new car, expensive handbags, eating out constantly, going shopping to purchase unnecessary things, and just anything else to waste money that should be saved for later in life expenses. I just really don't like to see individuals in my generation going above their means to keep up with the "Jones'."
I am so happy that Andrew and I live our life how we want to live it, not ever wanting what other have, working towards our big purchases, saving money for when we are done with college, and raising our children to understand the value of a dollar.
Now off my life isn't here to waste soap box...
Yesterday we took John for his follow up appointment at the surgeon. We got some amazing news...He will not have to have surgery!!! YAY!! The ultrasound also showed that the spot really isn't a cyst anyways, it is more or less just a little dimple. Only if it becomes a problem will he have surgery but it is in an area that is hard to heal and could become infected.
Then we went to the mall and as we were eating lunch, we noticed a couple admiring John. Then they came over and began to talk to us, then the husband gave us a quarter to start John's college fund. A little strange but sweet at the same time. They were a really nice couple, who do not have any kids of their own so they like to "spoil" other peoples kids. It was such a sweet gesture since most people are out to live their lives for themselves and not willing to give to others even if it is just a quarter. The quarter went in John's piggy bank and also was written in his 1st year calendar.
Andy and I are getting ready for our finals which start on Thursday and we can't wait for them to be over with, so we can enjoy a month off and come back for summer school. We are just 3 semesters away from graduating, which is getting scary since we will be venturing yet again into a new unknown but it will be fun to not have tests...sure I will want to take tests versus having a real job on occasions.
Well there you have it a few random thoughts!
